Meet Fergus -- All Grown Up

I am wondering about this bit from the article:

"We’ll also meet a new person from Jamie Fraser’s extended family! Lest we want to meet the other end of his sword, however, that’s all we can share so far."

My first thought was Jamie's aunt Jocasta, but she's not in Voyager. So maybe Marsali? Or even young William? I'd lean more towards Marsali since William is an infant/toddler in Voyager, so casting that role at this point wouldn't be the most exciting news on the planet.

I'd get a kick out of Hobart who is definitely extended family. But I'd say William or Marsali are more likely.

Who's Hobart? That name rings no bells.

Also, thinking about it, William isn't exactly "extended" family, is he? I mean, would you call Bree extended family? Roger Mac is extended family, since he's not a blood relative. So I'm leaning towards Marsali. It would make sense -- they'd probably have to do the infamous chemistry tests with César and whoever is cast to play Marsali, so they'd announce the casting of one before they cast the other.

Hobart Mackenzie.

William is 'extended' as in 'far-reaching'. Seeds were sown in unexpected places. ;)

I am still curious if they're going to age up Marsali's mother dramatically. She's supposed to look vastly different twenty years on but viewers aren't readers, they must recognise her on sight. Also, she's over a decade younger than Claire.

I still don't remember any Hobart Mackenzie. What does he do in the book? Where does he come in? I seriously have no idea who that is and I've read Voyager several times.

People can be younger and age badly. I had an aunt who was 20 years younger than my mother, but everyone thought they were the same age -- that's what smoking a pack a day does to you! In Laoghaire's case, it would be years of hard living compared to Claire's relatively easy life in the 20th century. And wasn't it mostly weight gain? She'd put on a fair bit of weight more than anything else? They can just stick a few pillows under Nell Hudson's skirts...

Hobart is Laoghaire's brother who brings Ned to negotiate with Jamie about the moneyz.
