Public Service Announcement  


So if you plan to visit Culloden, please do not desecrate the graves by leaving trinkets of any sort on or near any of the grave markers. If you want to pay your respects, I'm sure they have a donations box at the museum.

Thank you for the thought-provoking PSA.

Cultural misunderstandings. In the religion in which I was raised it's a sign of respect to leave flowers or small stones (although not coins) at a grave marker. I did not know that in other cultures this is called a desecration.

As Inverness Customs Tours is a privately owned business, I am also looking into the Culloden Museum's official take on this.

Guess they could put up a collection box or something if people want to leave money. I see how this can be a hassle for those who work there though.
