Season 3 news (maybe)?
I was listening to Ron Moore's podcast for ep. 4, and he and Toni Graphia just casually mention that earlier that day (before recording the podcast) they were busy working on season 3  ('in earnest' says Ron) --- working on story structure and breaks and how would it all work.

This means one of two things: 1) there will definitely be a season 3, Starz just hasn't publicly confirmed/announced it yet, or 2) they don't know for sure that there will be, but because there is so much work involved, Ron and crew have to start working on it just in case they get the go-ahead from Starz.

If it's the former, why wouldn't Starz announce already that season 3 is a go? One theory I've seen is

they are holding back on the formal announcement because they don't want to spoil things for the non-book readers. This season started off on the assumption that Jamie dies at Culloden. If Starz announces season 3 is a go, that would potentially spoil the rest of season 2 for people who only watch the show because it would indicate that Jamie didn't die at Culloden. I'm guessing season 2 will probably end the way DIA does.

Fascinating. I really hope they do announce season three at the end of the season because that is just smart. Make those non-readers believe what their selling about why Claire returned.

In all honesty though, I can't see why there wouldn't be a 3rd season with the numbers they are getting.

Just glad that they will be prepared when it's announced.
