Discuss: 402 'Do No Harm' & 403 'The False Bride'
I'm so sorry. I got really sick and things piled up for me at work and I just let this slip through my fingers.

I listen to the Outlander Cast podcast and they do a things called Good, Bad, Great. It seems so much simpler than questions so I'm just going to ask that. What is your good, your bad, and your great. GBG.

GBG Do No Harm
It seems like a lot of fans didn't love this episode and I don't understand it. I really enjoyed this episode including the very realistic and brutal portrayal of slavery. I mean it happened and it was awful so why not tell the truth. Outlander has never shied away from telling past horrors realistically so why start now?

My Great: Rollo getting skunked. That was something from the books which I really enjoyed and to see them do it for the show was just great. Also, Jamie and Jocasta reunion. I'm so glad it was welcoming and lovely considering she doesn't really know him at all anymore. And Jamie saying it was like meeting his mother again. Loved it.

My Bad: Of course, the whole Rufus thing. So sad and terrible but mostly Claire. I get you don't agree with the views of the time but being so adamant about it. I get you want change but she knows history and she's just not going to get it. I loved that she helped Rufus but she knew she was getting to a point where her efforts were doing more harm. It always annoys me when Claire is like... MY way. I don't disagree with her but she's something of a bull in a China shop.

My Great: Ulysses and Rufus. My goodness they were excellent in this episode. Ulysses was powerful and understated but so good. I loved the scene he had with Claire. Rufus too. So good. I cried throughout his whole ordeal. Never once did I feel outside of the story.

Bree and Roger's fight. Yes, us modern fans listen to his reasoning and think sexist but the man is from the 60s. I have never minded their conversation/argument when reading it in the books. Because Roger is trying to tell her he respects her enough to want forever not just one night. Roger is a romantic at heart. However, if he really believes in the wanting marriage and then sex he should also be a virgin. No double standards!

My Good: The transition when Bree and Roger are driving down the road to the road Jamie and Claire are traveling. That was so fun to see along with the minister's cat game!

My Bad: The pretense that Jamie and Claire were off to Woolams Creek to settle down where Jamie would be a printer. Really? Why do the show-runners want to make us believe Jamie would want that? Jamie is a doer. He's a leader of men. He would never be a simple printer which Claire discovered upon returning to him in season 3. Jamie was a smuggler and a seditionist with the cover of a printer. He had to have the legitimate profession. I feel as if the offer of land and essentially a laird-ship all over again would be far more appealing to Jamie than portrayed.

Also, where is Murtagh already?

My Great: The ghost story involved with the skull. We clearly see this ghost approach a very lost Claire. Come morning she follows her own boot prints to a stream and finds Jamie who also followed them there. OMG! Totally different in the books but still amazing. So now there have been travelers outside of Claire's family. Wow.
