Wow! That was an episode! Interestingly enough I didn’t really mind that Claire or Jamie weren’t in it (though we got to hear Claire when she was arguing with Frank). I think Sophie and Rick carried the episode well.

I’m glad that they didn’t make Laoghaire suddenly a good character. I knew she’d turn as soon as she found out who Brianna’s mother was, but it was still terrible how she tried to make Brianna believe that Jamie didn’t want her. I’m also grateful that Joan freed Brianna and took her to Lallyboach. While I’m not happy she thinks Claire is a witch (the girl is young and is just repeating what her mother says), I’m happy she did the right thing.

Seeing Uncle Ian and Brianna meet each other was beautiful and I loved how he gave her Claire’s clothes. I’m just sad that Jenny wasn’t there.

The Frank/Brianna flashbacks were okay - I’m not a fan of Frank but he did love Brianna and was a father to her. So their scenes weren’t bad and sort of emotional. I liked the final scene where Frank appears on the dock because it allowed Brianna to say a proper goodbye to him, as well as the courage to go forward to find her parents.

I enjoyed the little scene between Fiona and Roger. Wish we got more of her, she’s so awesome!

God, as soon as Roger encountered Bonnet I knew bad things were going to happen. I was like “Run away Roger!” But no he had to board his ship. Roger helping the young mother and baby made me cry, as did the scene where Bonnet threw the little girl overboard. Like I knew a small pox outbreak wasn’t good and they way of treating it wasn’t good either, but still it was so sad.

Overall, I liked this episode and it definitely moved the story along. I’m looking forward to the next episode.

I really liked this episode. I didn't even notice at first that Jamie and Claire weren't in it because Roger and Bree were awesome.

Admittedly my first reaction was that the Bree story-line didn't take place like this with Laoghaire but when I got to watching it (knowing Laura Donnelly and scheduling conflict) I thought it was a nice alternative. It was really interesting to see Laoghaire as theis generous hostess and watch it turn ugly when she realized who Bree's mother is.

I adore Joan. She's so sweet. Part of me believes that she believes her mom when she says Claire is a witch and she just doesn't know any better. I doubt any letters contradicting that story from Marsali have gotten though so...

I'm sad about Jenny too. But I loved Ian being there to meet her.

I actually really liked the end scene but I don't need to be sympathetic to Frank. I really don't think there is an excuse for the way he acted. He was right Claire loved another but I don't think he was very patient with Claire when she returned. I think he could have tried harder and not brought a girlfriend around.

But I do love how much he loved Bree and seeing their interactions was nice.

I love Fiona in the books so I really want more but now Roger and Bree are in the past so who knows.

Right! Bonnet is nuts. I mean I get that an epidemic on a ship can result in your ship being burned which we saw in season two when Claire opened her big mouth about St. Germain's ship. But to kill them. I've always thought of Bonnet as worse than BJR because BJR had rules he lived by... Bonnet not so much.

I can hardly wait for the next episode. I'm loving where this is headed and I want Bree to find her folks.
